Ava Turns 4!

Where Have We Been????

For the past 2 months we have been keeping very busy improving the curb appeal of our house.  We started this landscaping 5 years ago when we first moved in and we are almost completely finished.  As you can see in the one picture there is a little work in process in the one area (where the plants are still in pots).  This is Jon's project for the weekend.  We are very pleased with the landscaping and our "new" deck (aka re-stained).  And since you haven't seen Ava for awhile I made her stand in every picture :)

The Skaudis family made the trek down from Grand Rapids to see us this weekend.  The weather decided to cooperate while we were at the zoo and just as we were leaving it started to pour.  Talk about timing.  The kids had a blast seeing all the animals and playing together.  We don't get to see them enough but enjoy the time we do!  This summer we plan to visit them and enjoy some time at the lake!  Can't wait to see them again!  Thanks for visiting!!!!

Farm Babies

It was gorgeous yesterday and since I've been working some long hours this past week, Ava needed a little family time. We headed to the zoo where the latest attraction is the farm babies. Ava did not appreciate the smell of the farm but did want to feed to goats over and over again.

Snowman

We finally got some snow so Ava could make a Snowman. She's been waiting all season! She really wanted a family of Snowmen but I talked her into just one as mama was doing most of the building :)

First Projects

Ava's first preschool projects/crafts she brought home yesterday. She was so proud :)

First Day of Preschool

Ava had her first day of preschool yesterday. Jon and I both took off so we could bring her there. She didn't even cry when we left, as she was too busy playing with the sparkle play dough. After school when we asked her if she had fun she said yes and said there were lots of girls but only a couple boys. We also asked if she made any new friends and she said yes but she couldn't remember all their names. When it was time to leave and the teacher told the kids to get ready to go, Ava asked "why?" I guess she wanted to stay longer. It's only two days a week this year but I think she will look forward to next year when it's three days a week. Our little girl isn't so little anymore.

I've been meaning to post these pictures since we got Ava's 3 year pictures back. It amazes me how much she looks like me as a kid and when I show Ava pictures from my photo album she usually says it is her in the pictures so I just had to share.
